NARRE Warren Police are investigating a fire that damaged a children’s centre in Endeavour Hills on Tuesday night.
Fire crews were called to the scene in Oban Close about 9.45pm after a neighbour raised the alarm.
Police said they believe someone placed two plastic wheelie bins against a timber door on the southern side of the centre and set the bins alight with an accelerant.
The fire from the bins has then caught on to the timber door and frame, which in turn set fire to the roof.
The fire caused damage with an estimated repair bill of $50,000.
Anyone who may have witnessed anybody in the area about this time or who has any information regarding the fire is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
