Golf day turns into a huge hit for charity

GOLFERS teed up for a good cause when they took part in a charity golf day in Berwick recently.
The annual Mayoral Shield Charity Golf Day was organised with great success by the Rotary Clubs of Narre Warren and Endeavour Hills.
Golf day organiser Rotarian Roger McGill said the Berwick Montuna Golf Course provided an ideal setting for the competition.
There were a record number of entries this year with both the morning and afternoon competitions att-racting large fields.
The men’s Mayoral Shield was won by the team of Garry Griffiths, Jason Heard, Dylan Hyndman and Hayden James.
The women’s event was taken out by the team of Cheryl Baxter, Robyn Cotter, Judy Telford and Sharon Thompson.
Rotary club presidents Garry Denny, of Narre Warren, and Darren Mayne, of Endeavour Hills, thanked the players, sponsors and all Rotarians who gave up their time to stage the event.
They said funds raised from the Rotary charity golf day would be used to benefit many local organisations and groups.
