Art and soul put into Casey show

THE return of Kevin Hill’s Top Ten Australian Artists Art Show to the City of Casey last weekend has been dubbed a resounding success after attracting about 1000 visitors.
Following the success of last year’s inaugural Casey show, which was the first time in its 25-year history that the Top Ten show had been exhibited outside New South Wales, visitors came from right across the state to view this year’s exhibition.
Casey mayor Kevin Bradford congratulated Kevin Hill and his team, the artists and the Casey community for creating such a highly successful event.
“The collaboration between Kevin Hill, council staff and the exhibiting artists has resulted in another outstanding display of our country’s best artistic diversity here in Casey and I thank Casey residents for embracing the exhibition,” he said.
“Attendance at this exhibition is testament to the importance of people having access to such high-calibre artwork outside the metropolitan area. We are very proud that Casey, as Victoria’s most vibrant municipality, was honoured by the return of this fantastic exhibition.”
Throughout the weekend, visitors chatted with the artists and enjoyed a stunning range of paintings and sketches, including Gary Myers’ electric landscapes, the photo-realistic avian paintings of Paul Margocsy and Ian Hansen’s world famous marine images. Also exhibiting were Jack Absalom, Bill Ambagtsheer, Kevin Best, John Dynon, Werner Filipich, Jim Hough, Otto Kuster, Max Mannix, Eric Minchin, John Vander, local guest artist Ern Trembath and a tribute to the late Pro Hart.
Country Victoria resident Mrs M Hynam was the lucky winner of the door prize; receiving a stunning Paul Margocsy painting entitled By the Rivers of Babylon.
