THE BATS Theatre Company wowed audiences with its latest show, Rumours.
Crowds flocked to the Cranbourne Community Theatre to see the performances, which were part of the City of Casey Winter Arts Festival.
Keen theatregoer Brooke Hunter said the show produced great performances from several actors.
“The story was set around the deputy mayor’s 10th wedding anniversary. The cast, friends of the deputy mayor, spread rumours to each other and even the police to ensure that his high reputation was kept,” Ms Hunter said.
“The cast performed their parts wonderfully, especially using American accents as the play was set in New York in the 1990s.”
Ms Hunter said the show was a hilarious comedy that the audience thoroughly enjoyed.
BATS Theatre Company will take to the stage again in September with a youth performance.
Emperor’s New Clothes will be performed from 24 to 28 September at the Cranbourne Community Theatre.
