A TEAM representing Casey ARC and Narre Warren Physiotherapy has taken out 21st place in the BRW corporate triathlon competition.
With an overall time of 2:15:21, Andrew Ritter, 33, from Casey ARC Physiotherapy, Mike van Alpen, 23, and Christian Schiebold, 33, from Narre Warren Physiotherapy joined up to be one of 1700 teams that competed.
Mr Van Alpen said the triathlon was a relay but each person competed in every event on 2 March.
“We all had to swim for 400m, bike ride for 10km then run for 5km,” he said.
“We were aiming for top 50 so we are extremely happy with our result.”
The team also finished first in the health and medical category and received a certificate for its achievement.
“This event was specifically for teams from hospitals or nursing groups,” Mr Van Alpen said.
The BRW corporate triathlon has been running for 21 years and is the biggest triathlon in the world because of its participant numbers.
“It has created motivation among our employees to train for next year and improve our overall position,” Mr Van Alpen said.
