AN in-form Endeavour Hills Rugby Union A grade team hosted Wyndham City on Saturday at Frog Hollow and had a big 66-15 win.
The constantly improving Endeavour Hills side was fresh from a two-week break and came out strongly against a determined Wyndham City.
It wasn’t until the 11th minute that winger Wallace Siolopau was able to outpace the Wyndham outside backs to score Endeavour first try.
Seven minutes later Wallace Siolopau crossed again to take the score to 12-0, following a conversion by Tuku Tereva. Not to be outdone, Tuku crossed himself again two minutes later.
Wallace had to wait until the 30-minute mark for his third try and followed that up two minutes later with his fourth.
With the Colts team having a bye, Lewis Leomoana was promoted to the A-grade team and played in unfamiliar role of centre.
His promotion was rewarded with a 60-metre try in the 35th minute after a strong backline move and excellent support play.
Wyndham finally struck back with an unconverted try to take the half-time score to 32-5.
The second half saw quick tries to Tiole Uini and Samol Uy that gave Endeavour a 42-5 lead.
Wallace Siolopau crossed for a club-equalling record fifth try on the 17th minute.
With the score at 47-5, a lesser side would have raised the white flag, but Wyndham kept at it, crossing for a second try shortly after. Romel Tuitupau for Endeavour scored after a bursting run down the centre. Then Wyndham got its third try.
Tuku Tereva took his personal total to 16 with a converted try in the 38th minute.
In the very last minute of the game, Siolopau crossed in front of the crowd for an all-time club senior record sixth try in one game.
Scores: Endeavour Hills 66 d Wyndham City 15.
Referee, Pat Rae, commended both teams for the clean and positive way they played.

@BT Sub Sport News:WOMEN’S TEAM

The Women’s team played at home against a very strong North’s side.
Endeavour held their own in the forwards, but the outright speed of the North’s backs left a very one-sided score line of 71-0.
Coach Maria Huia said the team did their best on the day.
“We certainly could do with some fast women out wide, but overall we’re happy with the team’s progress,” she said.

@BT Sub Sport News:RESULTS

Other results saw the under-18s beat Moorabbin 25-15, the under 16s win over Box Hill at home, 45-10, the under 14s go down to Moorabbin 17-19 and the under 12s made the long drive to Wyndham City to lose 26-5.
A-grade plays away at Eltham this weekend, the colts are at Moorabbin and the women play at Albert Park against Powerhouse.
