REG and Margaret Clarence were all smiles recently as they wound the clock back 65 years.
The Narre Warren North couple celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary by renewing their marriage vows in Drouin.
Perfect weather greeted the duo and their guests for the light-hearted service conducted at Glenfyne Chapel and Gardens.
Mr and Mrs Clarence are long-standing members of the Dandenong Valley Historic Car Club and about 60 fellow members joined them on their special day.
The couple originally tied the knot on 19 September 1942.
Great granddaughter Bonnie Savage, 12, shared the spotlight as a bridesmaid and Roger Bowen told a few jokes during the service.
Peter Lafrank was busy as the master of ceremonies for the event with guests also having a good time listening to Kevin Clarence’s This is Your Life-style presentation of the couple’s life.
‘Wedding’ guests then enjoyed a spit roast lunch in the scenic gardens.
