The draft Doveton and Eumemmerring Community Infrastructure Plan, released last week, provides a comprehensive assessment of current and future provision for community facilities, buildings and spaces for the area.
The report revealed there was no high demand for the development of new community infrastructure in the area, it highlighted various future needs and also outlined key recommendations about how best to use the area’s existing facilities.
The draft plan was compiled through a community infrastructure study undertaken as a partnership between the City of Casey and Doveton and Eumemmerring Neighbourhood Renewal.
Doveton Library, Doveton Neighbourhood Learning Centre, the Dove Drop-In Centre, Doveton Maternal and Child Health, Eumemmerring Creek and the Pool in the Park were just a few of the many local assets named in the report.
Casey mayor Janet Halsall said the plan would be used as a guiding tool to assist in decision-making for the distribution of resources in Doveton and Eumemmerring.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for residents to have input into helping to create and shape their community, so I invite all interested residents to make a submission on the plan,” Cr Halsall said.
The Draft Doveton and Eumemmerring Community Infrastructure Plan is available for viewing on council’s website at www.casey.vic.gov.au or can be inspected at council’s customer service centre in Narre Warren, the Doveton Library and the Doveton Neighbourhood Learning Centre.
