PUPPETABILITY is coming to Casey this weekend.
The free puppet show and workshop for children this Saturday, 30 July will form part of the Casey Winter Arts Program.
Staged at The Old Cheese Factory in Berwick, the Puppetability show is suitable for children aged four to 12. It is presented by Ian Cuming, a Mornington Peninsulabased artist who works in the fields of puppetry, community cultural development, education and professional development for teachers.
The puppet show tells the story of a crocodile through larger puppets and a marionette. It aims to introduce puppetry as an understandable and accessible art form, by revealing the ‘behindthescenes’ workings of the puppets to children.
The content and the themes expressed in Puppetability reflect the modern world, including environmental issues such as pollution, with interactive involvement of each member of the audience. The show is followed by a handson workshop, where children can create their own puppet. All materials are provided.
Puppetability is happening this Saturday, 30 July from 2pm to 4pm at The Old Cheese Factory, 34 Homestead Road, Berwick.
Bookings are essential through City of Casey Customer Service on 9705 5200.
