BOOKWORMS were in a story of their own last week when they listened to illustrator and author Judith Rossell talk about the wonders of the book world.
Students from several local schools headed to Narre Warren Library and listened intently as Ms Rossell talked about the writing process and how she develops both her characters and stories.
The visit of the Melbourne based author coincided with Children’s Book Week and allowed intrigued youngsters to ask questions of the esteemed illustrator.
Ms Rossell also impressed her audience with illustrations from her latest book, The Haunted Castle of Count Viper, and several others she has worked on over the years.
Narre Warren youth librarian Ann Delahoy said the visit was a great way in enabling children to hear from a published illustrator and at the same time encourage reading.
“The students and teachers really enjoyed the day and it allows the library to build community relationships,” Ms Delahoy said.
