NARRE Warren South will play host to this year’s Willow Wizard Primary Schools Cricket Cup.
The 2007 tournament was launched last week at Hillsmeade Primary School – the winner of last year’s series.
Willow Wizard managing director John Hayes joined Hillsmeade Primary School cricket coach Clint Sezney, competition organiser Rob Wilson and Maranatha Methodist Cricket Club secretary Liane Weaver at the launch.
The 2007 Willow Wizard Cup will be held at Strathaird Reserve on Wednesday nights from 4pm onwards, with the first matches commencing on 24 October and running for six weeks.
The competition will expand from eight schools to 12 schools this year.
Primary schools in Casey are due to receive their invitations to participate this week.
Willow Wizard will provide every child who participates with a participation medallion, a cap and the famous Willow Wizard Cup for the winning school.
Match balls will also be provided and cricket gear for players at the matches.
There will be more Willow Wizard gear available as incentives for teams to finish higher on the table.
The top four teams will play off in semi finals with the winners playing in the Grand Final for the Willow Wizard Cup on 28 November.
