TALENTED performers from Maranatha Christian School have rocked their way to success.
The school was recently named winners in the small school’s division at the annual Rock Eisteddfod Challenge in Melbourne.
The win ended months of lengthy rehearsals and preparation for the 100 students and many staff and supporters from Maranatha’s Endeavour Hills and Officer campus involved in the performance.
Principal Andrew Mackenzie this week said the win had generated much excitement and the school was already looking forward to entering next year’s competition.
Mr Mackenzie said 60 students had taken to the stage during the performance and another 40 had worked backstage.
He said everyone’s efforts had been critical to the school’s success and thanked and congratulated all involved.
Former Maranatha student Amy Humphries choreographed the performance and Mr Mackenzie said teachers Michelle Pleiter, Katherine Pietsch and Jill Konig had also played a huge role in organising the performance.
The theme of this year’s performance was the Prodigal Daughter and Mr Mackenzie said the school had already thought of a theme for next year.
Nearly 3000 high school students took part in the annual event at Rod Laver Arena with the Melbourne grand final held late last month.
