SEVERAL local schools will be decked out with the latest technology after winning scores of prizes in a Westfield-run competition yesterday.
Narre Warren North Primary School was among the big winners in the Shop For Your School program which resulted in $70,000 worth of computers, printers, scanners and a range of other equipment presented to local primary schools.
Crowds of schoolchildren and teachers gathered at Westfield Fountain Gate on Wednesday for the presentation of the prizes and an interactive circus workshop that entertained those in attendance.
Berwick Lodge and Fountain Gate primary schools performed well in the competition, in which Westfield shoppers contributed points towards their chosen school’s tally.
Other local schools to finish in the top 10 of the 300 or more student category were Berwick, St Paul Apostle North, Maramba and St Catherine’s primary schools.
Berwick Fields and Hallam primary schools will also receive prizes for their shopping efforts, which produced a top-ten finish of schools with less than 300 students.
Many other schools from the Casey area also won some of the $2.4 million worth of prizes distributed throughout the country.
