THE City of Casey, in partnership with Housing for the Aged Action Group (HAAG), is providing an information session on housing options for older residents.
The City of Casey’s manager of aged and disability services, Rob Crispin, said the session would provide information about home share accommodation, retirement villages and other housing options for older people.
“The session is a direct response to feedback received during the recent ageing positively consultation groups,” he said.
“This consultation revealed the need for older people to have increased access to information and choice of options regarding their housing.”
HAAG is a communitybased, statewide organisation working towards fair policies and laws for longterm, secure and affordable housing for the elderly.
HAAG conducts community education forums across Victoria for older tenants and workers in the housing and aged care fields.
It also provides a tenancy service for older private and public tenants, and an outreach service for frail, older tenants in housing and care crisis.
The information session, Options for Older Residents, will run from 10am to midday on Tuesday, 16 August at the Hallam Seniors Centre, 4 Princes Domain Drive, Hallam.
A light morning tea will be provided and transport assistance is available.
To attend, phone Karen Upston on 9705 5200.
