FORMER Narre Warren Rotary Club president Ross Chudleigh followed in the esteemed footsteps of his father last week when he was named as a Paul Harris Fellow.
Mr Chudleigh was surprised by the prestigious nomination and even more taken back at the entrance of his parents George and Jean Chudleigh as the citation was being read.
In a moving presentation, past president and close friend Roger McGill helped former District Governor Ray Stewart and Mr Chudleigh senior attach the Paul Harris Fellow pin to Mr Chudleigh’s lapel.
Mr Chudleigh recently completed a highly successful year as the 13th president of the Narre Warren club and gave great assistance to Mr Stewart during his time as the Rotary District 9820 Governor.
Mr Stewart said the symbolism of the presentation was profound because almost 20 years ago Mr Chudleigh senior, then a member of the Rotary Club of Endeavour Hills, was presented with the first Paul Harris Fellow at that club.
The Paul Harris Fellow is named after the founder of Rotary International and is a way of expressing appreciation to a Rotarian who has made valuable contributions to the Rotary cause.
