The write way proves a winner

STUDENT writing was celebrated on Monday at a special assembly at Mossgiel Park Primary School in Endeavour Hills.
Teacher Jenny Scott said students from Prep to Year 6 had been writing, illustrating and publishing for weeks as they prepared for the Young Writers Award.
“The judges were thrilled by the variety of writing styles and the ability of students to write about significant, contemporary topics in a thoughtful way,” she said.
The Young Writer of the Year award went to Nuwan for his exciting fantasy The Journey Home and Kirsten for her serious exploration of global warming titled How We Came to Live on Mars.
Students Luke and Maria won Year Six prizes for their stories The Letter and The Fading Map.
Two students from each year level and the two Young Writers of the Year 2005 were presented with medallions and book prizes by Narre Warren North MP Luke Donnellan.
