THEATRE buffs have been invited to enter a world of mistresses and minks as BATS Theatre Company prepares to stage its latest production.
Not Now Darling, a madcap comedy based in a London fur salon, will keep audiences laughing with its tale of mistaken identities, mobsters, suspicious wives, scantily clad women kept hidden in closets and misguided shoppers.
The two-act play opens tomorrow night (Friday) at the Cranbourne Community Theatre, in Brunt Street, Cranbourne, and another five shows will follow.
The production forms part of the City of Casey’s 2006 Winter Arts program and is directed by Bronwyn Egan, a VCE drama assessor and former teacher at St Francis Xavier in Beaconsfield.
BATS Theatre Company has been busy rehearsing since April and this latest production follows the success of last year’s play Don’t Dress For Dinner.
Not Now Darling will run this Friday and Saturday at 8pm followed by a matinee performance at 2pm on Sunday 9 July. There will also be shows on Thursday, Friday and Saturday 13-15 July at 8pm. The cost is $16 for adults and $14 for concession. For tickets ring Jenni on 9702-2759.
