STUDENTS in grades five and six at Fountain Gate Primary School are raising more than $600 to sponsor a child in Africa.
Kande, a Senegalese girl, is benefiting from the sponsorship and from the students’ efforts.
The students have discovered that even the smallest contribution can make a significant difference, teacher Nicole Stephens said.
One grade six student summarised the feelings of many by saying:
“It feels good inside when you do something good, and fundraising for the poor is one of the best things you could do.”
