Health clinic for dementia-afflicted

A FREE service will be run in Narre Warren for people suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.
Alzheimer’s Australia Victoria will be holding a Life Histories and Life Books workshop, where participants will get the opportunity to create journals, memory boards, time lines and photo books.
The interactive session will be held on Thursday 21 August at the Aged Services Complex in Narre Warren from 10am to 12.30pm.
Participants are required to bring along a collection of photos and personal drawings, to be included in the books.
The session, run by experienced staff from the Dementia and Memory Community Centre, is designed to help people live positively with dementia.
Alzheimer’s Australia Victoria is the state’s peak body providing support and advocacy for people with dementia and their families.
The Dementia and Memory Community Centre is a multimedia gallery with an extensive collection of books, brochures, journals and videos about dementia, based at Alzheimer’s Australia Victoria in Hawthorn.
The centre is an Australian Government initiative.
