A FOUR-WHEEL motorbike equipped with cameras and electronics will be driving around more than 1500 kilometres of the City of Casey’s footpaths to video and collect footpath data.
Using the latest technology in data collection, such as global positioning systems, the Puredata four-wheel motorbike will identify any faults, necessary works and the overall condition of the paths.
The project began on Thursday 21 August and will take six to eight weeks to complete.
The State Government Road Management Plan requires councils to inspect footpath assets every three years.
In the past, Council contractors have walked the entire network to analyse and map the paths.
