A CASEY police officer has been presented with a Queensland Police Valour Award after his apprehension of a gun wielding bank robber in 2002.
Senior Constable Marc Newton, who joined Victoria Police a year ago, is based at the Endeavour Hills Police Station and is currently working with the Casey Criminal Investigation Unit at the Cranbourne Police Station.
Sen Const Newton received the award on Friday 12 September for displaying exceptional bravery in hazardous circumstances.
Chief Commissioner Christine Nixon presented Sen Const Newton with the award during a graduation ceremony at the Victoria Police Academy in Glen Waverley.
