LOCAL sporting clubs are reaping the benefits of a new sporting pavilion at Berwick Springs Reserve.
The new pavilion will cater for the growing needs of the Berwick Springs Sports Club, which incorporates both a junior football club and a junior cricket club.
Casey mayor Janet Halsall officially opened the new building last month.
Cr Halsall said council had spent $880,000 to fund the project as part of its commitment to providing facilities for the Casey community.
“Council is committed to developing facilities to meet the needs of the growing Casey community in areas such as Berwick Springs,” Cr Halsall said.
“This new pavilion caters for the immediate and future needs of Berwick Springs Sports Club and includes two change rooms and amenities for players, a canteen, kitchen, first aid room, storage, as well as an umpires’ change room,” she said.
Cr Halsall said Casey was committed to supporting local sporting clubs and encouraging residents to enjoy an active and healthy lifestyle.
