A NARRE Warren artist was hand-picked as the guest at last weekend’s Kevin Hill’s TOP TEN Australian Artists Art Show held at the City of Casey Civic Centre.
Janet Matthews has been perfecting her craft for more than 20 years.
The multi award-winning artist said she was delighted to be the guest artist in the exhibition.
Ms Matthews uses coloured pencils and graphite to create realistic, detailed and gentle drawings of animals, birds and flora.
“Narre Warren is a great place to live for an artist, as we have the wildlife and botanicals at our feet,” she said.
The free exhibition, which ran on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 October from 10am to 5pm, featured an awe-inspiring collection of modern and traditional paintings from some of Australia’s most-renowned artists, including Pro Hart, Norman Lindsay and Kevin Best. This year marks the fourth year in a row that the City of Casey has been selected as the only Victorian city to host the event.
