By Kelly Yates
THE Starlight Children’s Foundation delivered some early Christmas cheer to hospitalised children and their families at Casey Hospital this week.
In an effort to brighten the lives of the children, Captain Starlight left toys and presents, with the help of toy company Funtastic, for the children on Wednesday.
All year round, the Starlight Children’s Foundation brings the magic of Captain Starlight to the bedsides of children in metropolitan, regional and remote hospitals across Australia.
The children get the opportunity to meet Captain Starlight, dabble in some magic, watch the latest movies on the big screen, and participate in arts and crafts.
Victorian programs manager for the Starlight Children’s Foundation Bella Burns said the visit helped patients and their families escape the loneliness, boredom and stress of hospital life.
The foundation is appealing to the community to help bring happiness to 182 seriously ill children who are waiting for their very special Christmas gift, a Starlight Wish.
