Ladies on target for Parkers

TUESDAY’S VLBA action was the only round of pennant bowls that managed to be completed by Hampton Park Bowls Club this week.
The club won three rinks and drew the other to defeat Chelsea by 24 shots at home.
Mavis Kelly, Shirley Burnside, Ellen Smith and skip Gwen Clough saw the lead change a few times, but they ultimately prevailed by two shots, while Rhonda Diaper, Nola Flemming, Gail Williams and Christine Hendrie took control of the game early before winning by 18.
It took all of 25 ends for Grace Hogan, June Damon, Ann Westwell and skip Mary Hose to get on equal terms to force a draw.
Dot Carr, Margaret Baker, Gail Wilcock and Geri Graafsma had their good lead cut right down and had to be content with a four-shot victory.
Scores: Hampton Park 2/112 d Chelsea 0/88.
The Parkers held their Christmas party on Friday evening, with a young group of singers from a local church singing carols with strong support from the 60 in attendance.
