Helping hearing

DEAF Children Australia is appealing for the public’s support in seeking donations and volunteers.
Figures show that donations have tumbled from $87,000 in the first three months of last year to $53,000 for the same period this year.
The charity, which represents the needs of 16,000 deaf and hard of hearing children across Australia, relies heavily on the financial support of donors.
The organisation is also calling for volunteers to help with mail-outs and updating the database.
