FOR Brayden Ackers, returning to Berwick Fields Primary School just weeks after brain surgery was a chance for the 11-year-old to hang out with his classmates again.
Getting back into the swing of things was easy for Brayden, who told the News he was enjoying being back at school.
“It’s pretty fun. My friends were saying welcome back Brayden,” he said.
Since being diagnosed with refractory epilepsy at the age of three, Brayden has had to live with daily seizures that last for up to five minutes.
He had two brain surgery operations at the Royal Children’s Hospital last month.
His parents Daryl and Lyn Ackers said it was looking like the recent surgery was not a success, although it was still early days.
“Last weekend he had seven seizures in 24 hours and had to be picked up from a camp he was attending. It is things like this which make us sad as he misses out on so much because of the seizures,” Mrs Ackers said.
