Tee off for charity

By Kelly Yates
The Rotary Clubs of Narre Warren and Endeavour Hills are joining forces with the City of Casey and BevMaks Beds to host the annual event on Thursday, 29 October at Berwick Montuna Golf Club.
Golfers will play 18 holes, followed by a sit-down lunch or dinner. Hit-off is at 8am and 1pm, with shotgun starts.
All proceeds from the day will be distributed to charities and organisations with a focus on local and international community groups.
President of the Rotary Club of Narre Warren, Tim Fisher, said the golf day was one of the club’s major fundraising projects.
Mr Fisher said teams could enter as golfing participants or represent a sponsoring organisation.
Organiser Roger McGill, from the Rotary Club of Narre Warren, said the event raised between $15,000 and $20,000 each year for local charity projects.
“Last year we raised more than $20,000 and we’re hoping to top that this year,” he said.
“Each year we’re attracting more players and raising more money.”
Mr McGill has been running the event for more than 20 years.
Berwick Montuna Golf Club is located along Beaconsfield-Emerald Road in Guys Hill.
For details phone Roger McGill on 0429 345 627.
