The program, run by a group of students from the University of Melbourne, involves the Endeavour Hills school community collecting reusable shoes and distributing them to disadvantaged communities.
So far, the school has collected 104 pairs of shoes.
Southern Cross Primary School teacher Dr Andree Rodwell said she was delighted at the response by the school community.
“Footwear is a basic need that we could tend to take for granted,” she said.
“Many of us have shoes that we no longer use and to have this opportunity to assist those less fortunate is invaluable,” Dr. Rodwell said.
