MOUSTACHES will become part of the uniform for local firefighters as they join forces to support Movember.
Firefighters from Narre Warren and Berwick are getting involved with the fundraiser – an annual, month-long celebration of the moustache – highlighting men’s health issues specifically prostate cancer and depression in men.
Narre Warren Fire Brigade captain David Beards told the News this was the second time the brigade had done the initiative as a group.
“We’ve had members do the fundraiser individually for three or four years,” Captain Beards said.
“They’ll grow their moustache for all of November and then shave it off at the end.”
Narre Warren’s Daniel Kraan, the captain of the Narre Movember team, said each team was hoping to raise $1000.
