Angels take new turn

By Bridget Cook
THE Angels are set to rock the Hallam Hotel loud and live next week playing a mix of classic hits and new songs unheard at previous concerts.
As part of their series of pub rock show under than banners of Angels Live, the acclaimed rock band will be at the Hallam Hotel on Wednesday 2 December for one show only. With a career spanning more than 30 years, they will play old favourites including Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again, No Secrets and Take a Long Line.
The Angels lead vocalist Doc Neeson said the Angels Live tour saw that band back better than ever before. “I think we are playing the songs better now than when we recorded them,” he said. “Fortunately, we all have a great musical chemistry on stage and that has stayed there.”
The Angels are among the longest-lasting and most beloved bands ever to emerge from the Australian pub circuit since releasing their now legendary debut single Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again in May 1976.
Mr Neeson said the exciting thing now is seeing a new wave of fans coming to see the shows.
“We now have generations of fans coming through,” he said.
“There are still original fans as well as younger people who are discovering the music for themselves and coming along to see what all the fuss is about.”
This is the last opportunity for a while to see The Angels playing in such an intimate environment, with plans to next year do larger and more spectacular shows.
The Angels will be at the Hallam Hotel on Wednesday 2 December.
Tickets: $40 at Ticketek.
