VOCALISTS will get the chance to hit the high notes as auditions open for next year’s Berwick Show Star Search.
The event, formerly known as the Berwick Show Idol, is open to vocalists of all ages with a junior and an open category, according to organiser Naomi Horsley.
Ms Horsley said the auditions for the singing competition would be held at The Central Hotel in Beaconsfield on 6 and 13 February.
The 27-year-old, who won the Casey Idol competition back in 2007, is hoping to attract around 50 entrants.
“We are looking for a vocalist who can not only sing but also entertain the crowd,” she said.
“They need to be able to sell the song to the audience.”
There is a $15 entry fee, with all of the proceeds going to the Cancer Council’s Relay for Life.
Ms Horsley said she had always wanted to provide singers with an opportunity to perform their songs in front of an audience. Singers will take centre stage for the finals of the Berwick Show Star Search 2010 on 27 February about 6pm. Cash prizes are to be won.
