THIS year, Make-A-Wish Australia celebrates its 25th anniversary.
Make-A-Wish started in Australia in 1985.
In our local area, Pakenham branch had its first meeting at the end of 1990. Since then it has changed its name to the Cardinia-Casey branch as volunteers live in both City of Casey and Cardinia Shire.
Over 6000 wishes have been granted nationally. There are over 1100 volunteers in 58 branches throughout Australia.
On 29 April, the organisation is celebrating International Wish Day.
Volunteers will be at Fountain Gate all day, spreading the word about Make-A-Wish. Our local branch is also holding a sausage sizzle in front of Safeway Pakenham on Saturday 1 May.
The next fundraiser is being held on Saturday 5 June with popular entertainer Rodney Vincent at the Nar Nar Goon Hall.
For tickets, contact Joy Watkins on 5942 5565 or Carol Henzen on 59427341.
