CFA fired up

By Bridget Cook
NARRE Warren Fire Brigade has welcomed the recent donation of cheques from community organisations.
The brigade received $275 from Westpac Fountain Gate and $2210 from Dulux and Bunnings Warehouse, Fountain Gate.
Captain Paul Hardy said the brigade appreciated the support from local community groups.
“It keeps the brigade running,” he said.
“Without organisations like these, we wouldn’t be able to buy the necessary equipment.”
He said the money would also be used to buy equipment for the new station, which they plan to move into by the end of the year.
Between Boxing Day and 31 January 2010, Dulux donated $5 from each four litre can of Wash n Wear and Weathershield product sold in Bunnings Warehouse Fountain Gate in support of the Narre Warren CFA.
Complex manager Ray Juhani said the local community helped support Narre Warren CFA, ultimately assisting in the continued supply of its essential and invaluable services.
“It’s always good to be able to give something back to the groups who have been doing so much for our local area,” Mr Juhani said.
“All the funds raised go directly back into our local community and will make a huge difference to the Narre Warren CFA.”
