CASEY’S Ageing Positively ambassadors Patricia Whaley, Colin Smith, Brian Regan and Judy Owen are out in force, promoting health and wellbeing for older residents.
The Ageing Positively Ambassador program is about giving visibility to older people and recognising the significant contributions they make in the community.
City of Casey community strengthening manager Janette Green said the ambassadors were also keen to help the young people of Casey understand the important role that older residents have in the community.
The ambassadors will also speak at a number of locations during the City of Casey’s Ageing Positively Festival, which runs between 3 and 7 October.
The Ageing Positively Ambassador volunteers are trained to present to schools, community groups and organisations on subjects including ageism, health and wellbeing, volunteering, embracing change and inter-generation activities.
