Sharp on skills

STUDENTS from James Cook Primary School brushed up on some netball skills alongside a star.
Melbourne Vixens player Tegan Caldwell visited the Endeavour Hills school to run a clinic for a group of students.
The clinic, run by Netball Victoria and funded by ANZ, covered topics including passing skills, rules of netball, team work, shooting for goals and a modified game.
James Cook School principal Kathryn Sharp said 25 girls from Grades 4 to 6 took part in the clinic.
“We targeted girls who may be interested in joining a local club after having this experience,” she said.
“The students actively participated during the clinic with great enthusiasm and were shown basic netball skills and drills.
“All of the girls had great fun and we saw some budding netballers in the group.”
Ms Sharp said she would like to thank the school Physical Education teacher Sandi Tidey and Netball Victoria for the successful event.
