A CHARITY golf day in Cranbourne next month is sure to be a big hit.
The Rotary Club of Endeavour Hills will hold the Bendigo Bank Dandenong and Rotary Charity Golf Day at the Cranbourne Golf Club on 5 March. The popular event has raised more than $640,000 for various charities since it began in 1986.
Committee chairman Peter Verey said this year the major nominated charity was Disaster Aid Australia, a humanitarian project established by the club which provides emergency accommodation to people left homeless as a result of natural disasters such as earthquake, tsunami, flood, bushfire and famine.
Local youth groups are also strongly supported through Big Brother/Big Sister, Handbrake Turn and the Chisholm Foundation Apprentice Scheme.
Mr Verey invited residents to sign up for the event, which includes a game of golf, a meal, and socialising while raising money for a great cause.
“Cranbourne, with its tree-lined manicured Santa Anna fairways and slick greens provides a true challenge for even the most gifted golfers,” Mr Verey said.
“An enjoyable experience awaits you.”
Groups or singles are encouraged to attend.
