A CIVIL marriage celebrant, dress shop owner, hair dresser and adoptee are some of the many careers which Judith Reed has traversed.
Thankfully, from the young age of 16 she maintained a diary, which hugely helped her in writing her soon-to-be-released autobiography.
The Narre Warren North resident said her daughter was the main reason she decided to write a book.
“The inspiration came from my daughter,” she said.
Mrs Reed said she was told that her own granddaughters were unaware she was a dress shop owner.
Unsure of what else they didn’t know about her, Mrs Reed’s daughter forced her mother to realise she had plenty of life experiences worth recording.
The idea was first put to the writer at age 65, and it took five years for it to come to fruition.
“I put it to the side, and said yes, one day,” Mrs Reed said.
“I had only written the title, but when they asked me next if I had started, I said yes.”
The book, which will be launched later next month, details the interesting life of a woman, who like many others, has experienced her own triumphs and tribulations.
“I really enjoyed it, but I did find it sad at times, which I found difficult to get through,” she said.
Mrs Reed said it was a memoir of love, challenges and wonders.
“It has the challenges of my working life, and the wonder of what’s ahead for me, my family and mankind,” she said.
Excited for the release of her first book, the long process has not deterred the writer, who has already begun to produce her second book, which is a novel.
