Thieves were fast and furious

TWO car thieves who allegedly smashed through a Berwick showroom in their stolen luxury vehicles struck again this afternoon, stealing another car from the same dealership.
Police said two men involved in an earlier raid returned to the car yard about 12.15pm, using a stolen set of keys to break into and steal a $65,000 Black Audi wagon.
One of the cars stolen this morning, an $80,000 champagne-coloured 2006 Mercedes sedan, is still missing but the other vehicle, a Holden HSV Club Sport, was found at 8am.
Officers are currently on scene of the thefts.
It’s understood three thieves stole two luxury cars from the Berwick dealership and made their getaway in the early hours of Friday morning by driving them through the windows of an empty showroom.
About 6.15am the men aged between 20 and 30 broke into the Holden HSV and Mercedes sports car at the dealership along Princes Highway, up from Clyde Road.
To avoid cement bollards blocking their escape, the men then drove the cars through a glass window of the empty used car showroom and out another glass window on the other side and onto Princes Highway, leaving masses of broken glass and broken window frames in their wake.
It is believed a bumper bar left on the showroom floor belonged to one of the stolen vehicles.
Detective Senior Constable Angela Butler from Casey Crime Investigation Unit (CIU) said surrounding businesses, such as the Shell service station, provided CCTV footage which would be used to track down the brazen thieves.
Police believe the estimated value of the cars to be about $150,000.
The CCTV footage is expected to be released shortly.
Police said the men involved were Caucasian and were wearing black clothing.
