Hail the King… Max King

VFL – ROUND 9

Only a royal decree would befit the Melbourne rookie who has taken the Scorpions by storm in recent weeks.
After booting four goals in an AFL Victoria Development League match – as well as one of the VFL season’s best speccies – 19-year-old King, produced his finest effort in the VFL seniors on Saturday to leave Coburg in Casey’s wake by eight points.
His royal VFL seniors return was completed on Saturday and the effort was especially extravagant as the 200cm ruck/forward prospect booted five goals in tandem with Jake Spencer (2 goals) and Chris Dawes (1 goal) up forward.
Taking court with King were leading possession getters Matt Jones, who claimed 35 touches, Rohan Bail (34 touches) and James Harmes (29 touches).
Winning ways have pushed the Scorpions up to sixth on the VFL ladder. Casey travels up the highway this weekend to face North Ballarat.
