Eclectic and electric Eckersley

SINCE its official debut at the 2013 Tamworth Country Music Festival, the Adam Eckersley Band has enjoyed a steep rise in popularity, firmly positioning itself as an Australian band to watch.
Hearing the Adam Eckersley Band (AEB) crunching through nimble rockers, fiddle-led stompers, reflective acoustic tunes and blistering country-rock, music lovers are reminded of the broad church that is known as country today.
Now this amazingly eclectic band is coming to the Hallam Hotel.
The musicianship, coupled with the gravelly emotive Eckersley vocals, makes it clear why the AEB is setting fire to the pews.
Having just won the 2015 Golden Guitar Award in January for New Artist of the Year, Eckersley also picked up a prestigious APRA award for Country Work of the Year for his hit single Give Her the World.
The AEB has also been chosen for Commercial Radio Australia’s coveted spot on the 2015 Global Artist Showcase for CMA Music Festival in Nashville in June.
It seems industry and fans alike have come together in their mutual acclaim for Eckersley whose roots are, of course, impeccable.
He writes what ZZ Top might call “beer-drinking, hell-raising” great music – learned from many years of touring both the US and Australia constantly.
The indisputable truth is that Eckersley and his heavily bearded band of cohorts play and say what comes from their hearts and souls and as long as there’s juice in the van and strings on the guitars, the AEB will be playing somewhere.
Those who are lucky enough to catch their music will be left cheering for more.
The Adam Eckersley Band plays the Hallam Hotel, 241-245 Princes Highway on 24 September.
