Berwick breast cancer survivor Debbie Brettoner recently hosted her third awareness luncheon since being diagnosed in 2014.
The 5 May luncheon underlined the importance of early detection tests.
“We hope every person who attends tells 10 people about the crucial importance of getting check ups, so it has a ripple effect throughout our community,” said Paris Brown, a work colleague of Ms Brettoner at Harcourts Berwick.
As a result of Ms Brettoner’s efforts, at least two women were prompted to take the test and received crucial early diagnoses of breast cancer.
The event at Shanikas Pakenham held a fund-raising silent auction supported by a range of local businesses.
