Green light for Narre road upgrade

New traffic lights have been activated as part of stage one of the Narre Warren North Road upgrade.
Roads Minister and Narre Warren North MP Luke Donnellan turned the key at the signal box at the corner of Fox Road on 6 December.
“We’re getting on with the job of delivering this vital intersection upgrade to improve traffic flow and safety for the community.
“We’re not just talking about intersection upgrades, we’re getting them done.”
A high-mounted crossing push button has also been installed at the intersection.
It complements duplicated lanes on Narre Warren North Road between Ernst Wanke Road and just north of Brundrett Road.
Stage two works on the Belgrave-Hallam Road intersection are expected to start in 2018.
It includes duplicated lanes, left-turn slip lanes and traffic lights synchronised to improve the flow of 22,000 drivers a day.
A shared pedestrian and cyclist path will be constructed on the west side of Narre Warren North.
The tender for the works is expected to be awarded early 2018.
