Beaconhills College Year 9 students have taken the initiative to assist people experiencing or at risk of homelessness by creating care packages.

One group of students made and sold cupcakes around the school yard and raised money to buy products to create 20 packs.

Another group wrote to many manufacturers requesting donations and received an incredible number of products to make another 20 care packs, particularly for women.

The last group decided that the pets of people experiencing homelessness also need support so they created ‘Pet Care Packs’ from donations from around the school.

On Thursday 18 October the students presented the packs to Wayss, an organisations that assists individuals who are homeless or at rick of homelessness, who will then distribute the care packs to people in need (and their pets).
