Bowls club boost

A re-elected Labor Government will deliver a boost to the Narre Warren Bowls Club, paving the way for new change rooms and all-weather bowls.

Member for Narre Warren North Luke Donnellan announced that they will contribute $500,000 towards a light-weight, translucent canopy over the Narre Warren Bowls Club, so that the greens can operate rain, hail or shine.

Labor’s investment will also go towards additional projects on the club’s to-do list, which includes upgrading change room facilities to meet current standards for disabled access.

This investment builds on the $150,000 Labor has already delivered for the Narre Warren Bowls Club for a new synthetic green.

The new, synthetic green is cheaper and easier for the club to maintain, removing the time and expense of tending to a grass green.

The synthetic green together with a canopy will ensure that Narre Warren bowlers can have rinks available every day of the year.

“Clubs like Narre Warren Bowls Club are the cornerstones of local communities – that’s why we’re backing this great local club to build even better facilities for its members,” Member for Narre Warren North Luke Donnellan said.
