Woman wanted over rent deception

Narre Warren Police is investigating an incident of obtaining property by deception that occurred in Junction Village on the 5 February 2019.

Police allege the victim responded to an advertisement on a Facebook group to rent a property in Junction Village.

The victim met a woman who identified herself as ‘Kate’ and showed her through the property before paying the bond and first month’s rent, police say.

After making enquiries the victim discovered that the keys she had received were not for the property and ‘Kate’ was not authorised to rent out the property.

Police have released an image of a female who they believe may be able to assist with their investigation into the incident.

Anyone with information is urged to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or http://www.crimestoppersvic.com.au and quote incident number 190101737
