10 years of service in Berwick

Berwick OM:NI Men''s Discussion Group. 190096_03.

The Berwick men’s discussion group commenced in March 2009 and like all other groups is a program of Cota Vic and run by volunteers.

Older Men:New Ideas (OM:NI) first started in NSW in the late 1900s, they were set up in recognition of the unique issues faced by many men as they near or enter retirement.

The first Victorian group started in 2004 and many more have followed, using the same principals and continue to function successfully.

“Our aim in Berwick is to create a safe male sharing environment where men can meet and discuss with confidence and trust, issues that may affect their daily lives and to provide support, encouragement and assistance while coping with various stages of lifestyle changes,” Berwick group facilitator Brian Regan said.

Meetings are held monthly and have a privacy agreement between participants in an informative and private atmosphere.

The group meets at Brentwood Park Neighbourhood House (21A Bemersyde Drive, Berwick) on the first Wednesday of each month from 9am till 12pm.

They welcome seniors over 50 years, who may benefit, share, respect and draw on the experience of others.
