Man charged following shooting

A 31-year-old man has been charged in relation to a non-fatal shooting which occurred in Hampton Park last month.

Armed Crime Squad detectives, with assistance from officers from the New South Wales Robbery and Serious Crime Squad, arrested the man in Mildura on Tuesday 7 May.

The Langwarrin man was charged with home invasion with firearm, intentionally cause serious injury, and intentionally cause serious injury with gross violence.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Mildura Magistrates’ Court today.

The charges relate to an incident where a 30-year-old Hampton Park man was allegedly shot in the lower body on Fulham Close about 9.30am on 30 April.

He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation remains ongoing.
