Man arrested following burglary

Detectives from Casey Crime Investigation Unit have arrested a 38-year-old man following a burglary in Berwick last week.

A jewellery store on O’Shea Road was broken into about 2.40am on Thursday 1 August.

Once inside the premises it’s alleged the offender smashed a display cabinet and stole 48 men’s rings.

Information received led detectives to executed a warrant in Berwick about 3pm that day.

They arrested the 38-year-old and recovered the stolen property.

The Berwick man was charged with theft and burglary and bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on30 September 2019.
