Narre Warren North children are set to benefit from supported programs in their kindergartens and early learning centres thanks to a recent grant.

As part of the State Government’s $160 million School Readiness Funding Initiative, over $630,000 has been allocated to early learning centres and kindergartens in Narre Warren North to improve language development and resilience.

The funding will enable these early childhood services to tap into the expertise of speech and occupational therapists, language and literacy professionals and child psychologists to improve the development of children from a young age.

The School Readiness Funding is a permanent part of the kindergarten system that will be available to all Victorian funded kindergarten services by 2021 to address educational disadvantage.

Narre Warren North MP Luke Donnellan said the funding will allow local kindergartens to access resources that will truly make a difference in children’s lives.

“We know the impact that a quality early learning program can have on a child’s future, which is why we’re giving more kindergarten services extra funding to support Narre Warren North children,” he said.
